Suleyman bag Dargalayi

Suleyman Suleyman Bakrkhan, known as Suleyman Dargalayi, a Peshmerga and Barzani's comrade in the Soviet Union, was born in 1898 in the village of Dargala, was a fighter in the second Revolution of Barzan, was a Peshmerga in the Democratic Republic of Kurdistan in Mahabad, participated in the September Revolution, and passed away in Dargala village in 1974.


Biography 

Suleyman bag Dargalayi was born in 1898 in Dargala village in Warte sub-district in the Rawanduz district of Erbil governorate, before he went to the Soviet Union had two wives, his first wife was Aisha Fatah Hussein, and they had one son and three daughters Mat Suleyman (1932)، Sadaat Suleyman (1936). Ezzat Suleyman (1937) and Nazli Suleyman (1940), her second wife was Halim Wasu Aziz, and they had three sons: Shawqi Suleyman (1936), Salahaddin Suleyman (1939), and Sherzad Suleyman (1945), and married Nina in the Soviet Union. He had experience in Kurdish, Arabic, Turkish and Russian languages, and in 1974 he passed away in the Dargala village and he was buried there.


Memoir of struggle 

Suleyman Beg Dargalayi was an officer in the Iraqi Royal Army and run away from the army. In 1944, he joined the ranks of the Second Barzan Revolution and participated in the battles. On August 19, 1945, by the order of the Iraqi Military Court, all of his moveable and immoveable properties were seized. On October 11, 1945, after the failure of the Second Revolution of Barzan, he and his family went to eastern Kurdistan.

 

On March 31, 1946, he became a Peshmerga in the Barzani forces of the Kurdistan Democratic Republic’s Army, and on 29 April 1946 he participated in the Battle of Qarawa under the supervision of Khidir Suleyman Bag in the Saqiz area of eastern Kurdistan. On April 15, 1947, he crossed the Gadar River with Sheikh Ahmed Barzani, which is located between the international border of the Kingdom of Iran and the Kingdom of Iraq. And for several months, he was captive in Diana (Erbil), and on April 19, 1947, he decided to continue the endeavor under the command of General Mustafa Barzani, on May 23, 1947, after a large meeting of Dre village and the decission to go to the Soviet Union he goes with the force to Soviet. On 28 May 1947 at the request of Mirhaj Ahmed he participated in the Jereme village meeting. On June 18, 1947, he crossed the Aras River, which is on Iran's international border with the Soviet Union.

On June 19, 1947, with all his friends for forty days, they were placed in a desserted community in Nakhchawan, the Soviet Republic of Azerbaijan, they were surrounded by barb wire and guarded by the soldiers, and regarding food, clothing, and mobility they were treated as prisoners of war. On 23rd on the decision of the Soviet Union, they were gathered and settled in the districts of Aghdam, Lachin, and Ayulah in The republic of Azerbaijan. They were transferred to the Baku camp in the Soviet Union of Azerbaijan on the 10th of December 1947, and on the 23rd of December 1947, they were given military uniforms and trained eight hours daily under the supervision of The Soviet Republic of Azerbaijan’s officers, and four hours for the reading and writing of Kurdish taught by educated refugees.

On the 19th of January 1948 in the Baku General Conference, which represented all The Kurds of Iraq and Iran, he became a member of the political leadership in Iraqi Kurdistan. On 29 August 1948, he was transferred with all his friends from the Soviet Union of Azerbaijan to the Chirchik community near Tashkent, the capital of the Soviet Union of Uzbekistan, and continued their military training there. On March 14, 1949, he and his comrades were distributed as groups and units to the rural villages by train, and transferred to Samarqand. He returned to Vreviski of the Soviet Union in November 1951. On April, 16, 1959, He returned to Kurdistan with his friends on Groza ship via Basra port in southern Iraq, and participated in the September revolution.

Badro Lashkri

Born in 1930 in the village of “Bestre”, Badro Lashkri Hussein was a Peshmerga and a comrade of Barzani for the Soviet Union. He participated in the second Barzani revolution; moreover, he was a part of the revolutions of “Aylul” and “Gullan”. Also, he was a Peshmerga for the Republic of Kurdistan in Mahabad. He excelled at being a Peshmerga, and he is the bearer of the Barzani medal.

Piro Chicho Aziz

Born in 1922 in the village of “Guyze”, Piro Chicho Aziz was a Peshmerga and a friend of the Barzani for the Soviet Union. He was injured twice. In 2006, Piro passed away.
