Jamil Ali Jamil

jamil Ali Jamil, also known as Jam Ali Jam, was born in 1916 in Argosh village. a peshmarga and a comrade to Mula Mustafa Barzani. He fought in the Second Barzan Revolution. He was a Peshmerga in the Kurdistan Democratic Republic in Mahabad. He participated in the Eylul Revolution. He passed away in 1963 in Ardel village.


Biography

Jamil Ali Jamil was born in 1916 in Argoshi village of Sherwan Mazen district of Mergasur district of Erbil province. He died in 1963 in Ardel village of Erbil province.


Service Record

In 1944, he joined the ranks of the Second Barzan Revolution and participated in the fighting. On August 19, 1945, all his property was confiscated by the Iraqi Military Customary Court. On October 11, 1945, after the collapse of the Second Barzan Revolution, he crossed into East Kurdistan with Mustafa Barzani and his comrades. After the establishment of the Kurdistan Democratic Republic in Mahabad, on March 31, 1946, he defended the republic within the framework of the Barzan forces.

After the Kurdistan Republic in Mahabad fell apart, Barzani returned from the east of Kurdistan to the south of Kurdistan. During that time, he participated in Naghada and Shno conflicts. In April19, 1947 he was one of the Peshmarga who returned to Sherwan and the Mizuri region through Khuakwrk and Barazgr area in the north of Kurdistan.

Following their arrival in to Nakhchivan, Azerbaijan on June 19th, 1947, Mustafa Barzani and all of his companions were imprisoned for forty days. In fact, they were given the same treatment as prisoners of war in terms of food, clothing, and transportation while living in a camp which was surrounded by barbed wire and guarded by soldiers. Not long after, by decision of Soviet Union government, they were divided into groups and transferred to the regions of Aghdam, Lachin, Ayulakh and Kalbajar in the Republic of Azerbaijan. After his comrades were transferred to a military base on the Caspian Sea in Baku, the capital of the Republic of Azerbaijan, on December 10, 1947, he did not go with them and returned to Kurdistan after six months in the Soviet Union and settled in the village of Argosh. After the return of General Mustafa Barzani and his comrades from the Soviet Union and the outbreak of the Great September Revolution, he participated in the revolution.

Badro Lashkri

Born in 1930 in the village of “Bestre”, Badro Lashkri Hussein was a Peshmerga and a comrade of Barzani for the Soviet Union. He participated in the second Barzani revolution; moreover, he was a part of the revolutions of “Aylul” and “Gullan”. Also, he was a Peshmerga for the Republic of Kurdistan in Mahabad. He excelled at being a Peshmerga, and he is the bearer of the Barzani medal.

Piro Chicho Aziz

Born in 1922 in the village of “Guyze”, Piro Chicho Aziz was a Peshmerga and a friend of the Barzani for the Soviet Union. He was injured twice. In 2006, Piro passed away.
