Haji Mirkhan Ahmad Sulaiman was born in 1940 in Khardni village of Mergasuri district in province of Erbil; he finished primary school. In 1945, he was displaced with his family to Iran. And after the collapse of the Kurdistan Republic in Mahabad, he returned to Southern Kurdistan. Furthermore, in 1975, after the collapse of the Aylul Revolution, he was displaced to Iran again. After the 1991 Kurdistan Uprising, he returned to Southern Kurdistan and settled in Pirmam. Besides his mother tongue, he was fluent in Persian.
He joined the Peshmerga forces on 1st May 1959 and became a Peshmerga where his brother Hasomirkhan was. On 7th July 1962, he was promoted to the rank of head of a group of soldiers. He was also the same rank in 1966 in Badinan region at Mount Gara. In 1968, he was the commander of the 3rd Battalion of the Akre Forces, and in 1970, he was a battalion commander in the same force until the March 11 declaration. Additionally, he was also in charge of the Akre regional committee. To add further, in 1971, he became an assistant to the 9th Battalion of the Border Guard at the boarder of Sheikhan district. Moreover, from 1967 to 1968, he attended military training (Firearms usage, Defense and offense) in the Zagros Mountains in Hamadan. In August 1969, in an intense battle in Akre and Sheikhan regions, his eye was injured. And in 1977, he was imprisoned for three months by the Iranian SAVAK with the excuse of political activities.
He was a member of the 11th, 12th and 13th congresses of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP). Also, in 2010, he was awarded the Immortal Barzani Medal by President Massoud Barzani at the 13th Congress. He was retired as a disabled lieutenant and a member of the Aylul High Institution and head of the Aylul Committee in Soran and Mergasur.
