Martyr Yusuf Hamad Razaq was born in 1941 in the village of Besha in the Balakayati area, affiliated with Erbil Governorate. He was a villager and occupied with farming, was illiterate, and was married.

In the Year 1961, he joined the September Revolution and became a Peshmerga in the Haji Berokhi battalion affiliated with the Balak Force. He participated in the Zozk battle. In the Year 1965, near the village of Sitkan, during a battle against the mercenaries of the Iraq regime, he was wounded and captured. Later, he was taken to the military brigade of the Iraqi Army that was in Balakian, where he was executed by firing squad and was martyred.
