They were guarded by a group of soldiers and were treated like prisoners of war in terms of food, clothing, and transportation. Later, by the decision of the Soviet state, they were distributed in Azerbaijan in the regions of Aghdam, Lachin, Ayulakh, and Kalbajar. On December 10, 1947, they were transferred to a military base on the Caspian Sea in Baku, the capital of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and on the 23rd of the same month, they were given military uniforms and underwent 8 hours of military training daily under the supervision of the officers of the Republic of Azerbaijan. At the same time, they received four hours of Kurdish language lessons daily from some of their educated companions.
