Martyr Sadiq Haji Hussein Batifi was born in 1952 in Batifa. In 1985, while carrying out a revolutionary Activity at Gire Maghara in the Sheikhan area, he was martyred.
Struggle RecordMartyr Sadiq Haji Hussein Batifi became a Peshmerga at a young age in 1973 in the Zakho force under the command of Isa Siwar. In 1974, when the Iraqi army attacked Kurdistan again, Martyr Sadiq was one of the Peshmerga who, with the Zakho force in the Martyr Haji Qado Gravi battalion, stood against the enemy's attack and fought heroically in the Zakho valley and Hasanava. In the same year, Martyr Sadiq also participated in these battles, such as the capture of the Dashtmeri outpost, the capture of the Dornekhe outpost in June 1974, the capture of the Cham Mishko outpost, and the battles of Qaraula and Barzibare..
In the summer of 1974, the Martyr Haji Qado Gravi battalion, of which Martyr Sadiq was one of the Peshmerga, was transferred to the battlefronts in the Balakayati area, where they took up positions on the Gawriya Beshe front. They were subjected to heavy attacks and bombardment there, and he and four of his comrades were wounded in a fierce battle. Martyr Sadiq was transferred to a hospital in Mahabad in Eastern Kurdistan for treatment. After he was treated, he returned to the battlefronts to be with his comrades..
After the defeat of the September revolution in March 1975, Martyr Sadiq returned to Batifa, but Batifa was no longer the free Batifa of the past, full of the colors and features of Kurdishness; rather, it was full of soldiers, spies, and the dark-hearted and hateful tongues of the occupiers. Therefore, he felt suffocated and hid his Kurdish nationalist feelings. He began looking for a way to start a new struggle and revolution to cleanse Kurdistan of the occupiers..
As the spark of the Gulan revolution gradually grew, in the summer of 1976, he reached the cadres of the revolution and, along with his friend Abdulaziz Abdulrahman Kashani and some other friends, became members of the secret organizations of the Kurdistan Democratic Party and began work and Activity against the forces and spies of the occupying regime..
Before the 9th Congress of the Party, Martyr Sadiq's contact was with Ghazi Zebari, a member of the first regional committee, and after the congress, he was with Dr. Jerjis Hassan, the head of the first branch. Their struggle covered many aspects, such as collecting and sending information about enemy movements to the Peshmerga, guiding Peshmerga detachments during Peshmerga activities inside Batifa and its surroundings, distributing party and revolution leaflets in Batifa, Zakho, and Mosul, and also carrying out some military activities inside the city against enemy forces and spies, such as throwing several grenades at the enemy inside the city of Zakho..
Among the Peshmerga activities that Martyr Sadiq guided the Peshmerga to carry out were: seizing the regime's livestock in Sirkutki and Mala Arabi, setting an ambush for enemy soldiers returning from road guard posts to the Batifa brigade headquarters, attacking the Gire Daholi outpost in the Batifa area in 1978, attacking the Ba'athist organization headquarters in Batifa in 1978, and informing the Peshmerga about the arrival of the regime's president, Saddam Hussein, to Zakho, as he might also come to Batifa..
For this purpose, the Peshmerga set an ambush at Zambil Froshi in the west of Batifa on March 22, 1981. Although Saddam did not come, an enemy military convoy fell into the ambush, and a large number of enemy soldiers were killed..
Of course, Martyr Sadiq had a hidden rifle. When he was guiding the Peshmerga or participating in military activities with the Peshmerga, he would take out his rifle and use it. In 1982, after his brother Muslih was martyred by the Ba'athist security, he joined the revolution and became a Peshmerga in the border area of the Duhok Committee and with the Martyr Ahmed Haji Hussein organization. Because of his intelligence and agility, Martyr Sadiq initially became a member of the organization and the leader of a main Peshmerga cell, and later became the deputy head of the Renjbaran organization, and finally became the head of the Martyr Hamid Hafzla organization..
In these short years of his Peshmerga service, Martyr Sadiq participated in dozens of major military activities and played a prominent role in all of them. Although he participated in many activities, such as:
- Capturing enemy bases in the Bagera area in 1982; their spoils were 12 prisoners, 13 Kalashnikovs, an RPG, a 60mm mortar, and a Racal radio device..
- Capturing enemy bases in Masike, which is now a neighborhood of Duhok, in 1983; their spoils were 5 prisoners, 9 Kalashnikovs, and a Racal radio device..
- Setting an ambush on the Mangishke road near the village of Hujafa in 1983; their spoils were 6 Kalashnikovs..
- Setting an ambush on the Sadia bridge in the Mangishke area in 1983; their spoils were 4 Kalashnikovs..
- Attacking the enemy base in Zawita..
- Setting an ambush between Kore Gavana and the village of Mamane; their spoils were 7 Kalashnikovs..
- Capturing an enemy base in Sharanshe in the Zakho area in 1983; their spoils were 6 Kalashnikovs..
- Setting an ambush between Zawita and Duhok near the village of Bare Bahar in 1984; their spoils were 18 Kalashnikovs..
- Standing against and breaking the major attack of the enemy's army and Jash (collaborators) on the areas of both the Zakho and Duhok committees in the summer of 1984, where Martyr Sadiq played a very large and prominent role in breaking the attack on the Galanaske front. Because of his heroic role, he was awarded a 14-round pistol by the first branch at that time..
Regrettably, on the night of the 3rd to the 4th of June 1985, when their organization, the Martyr Hamid Hafzullah organization affiliated with the Duhok Committee and the Martyr Dakan organization affiliated with the Sheikhan Committee, under the supervision of Amin Nasri, attacked the enemy base at Gire Maghara in the Sheikhan area, at the beginning of the attack, the martyr Sadiq was martyred in front of the enemy base wall. The martyr Amin Nasri knew for certain that if he went for the body of the martyr Sadiq, he too would be martyred, because the fire of the enemy's rifles was dominant over the place of the martyr Sadiq, but still he did not want to leave his friend's body in the hands of the enemy, so he also attacked and he also fell beside the martyr Sadiq and was martyred. The body of the martyr Amin was buried in the village of Nasra in the Atrush area and the martyr Sadiq's in Gofk in the Batifa area. He and his friend Amin Nasri, who were both in charge of the attack and the military organizations, were martyred.
