Struggle History

Martyr Ali Arif Rahim, while a student in the city of Halabja in 1986, established a relationship with the secret cells inside the city of Halabja, which at that time were affiliated with the Halabja Regional Committee of the 4th Branch of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, and Martyr Soran Ismail held the rank of regional administrator and supervised the secret cells.

In 1987, during an activity inside the city of Halabja, he was exposed and went to the mountains. He became a Peshmerga under the command of the martyr Commander Sardar Haji Hussein Daraqaysari, who was the commander of a special force within the Hawraman Force and the 4th Branch.

In 1987, in the Battle of Ahmad Awa and Hanay Qul, where the Peshmerga Force faced a large military force of the Ba'ath regime, Ali Arif Rahim and his comrades, under the command of Martyr Sardar Daraqaysari, set an ambush for the military convoy on the road between the Khurmal sub-district and Ahmad Awa to block their path and not give them the opportunity to reach the Peshmerga positions in Ahmad Awa. After confronting them, they destroyed the convoy, but during the retreat of the Ba'ath regime's soldiers, the Ba'athists fired at the Peshmerga force with a DShK from the Khurmal fortress. As a result, a DShK bullet hit Ali Arif Rahim in the neck, and he was martyred.
