The battle took place
On October 11, 1977, following a meeting of the leadership of the Second Region in Soran, under the supervision of Kamal Kirkuki At the home of Bayez Abdullah in the village of Khorkhura, it was decided that the Peshmerga forces would launch an attack on the town of Pangerd. For this purpose, the Peshmerga force was divided into several smaller detachments, including the detachment of Haji Faqi Ismail, which consisted of Peshmerga from the Jafaiti area, the detachment of Saleh Mulla Ahmed, the detachment of Haji Sheikh Hussein Lutar, and the detachment of Haji Muhammad Sufyani, in addition to a portion of the Peshmerga from Kalala Shinkaiti. On the same night, December 11, the Peshmerga detachments attacked the town of Pangerd and, in a short time, managed to seize the police station and the Ba'ath Party headquarters in the town. They even took complete control of the town that night. After achieving significant gains, the Peshmerga force withdrew the following morning and evacuated the town. Among those wounded in this attack were Kuikha Pirut, Hama Sur Haji Rasul, and Hama Kakasur is a member of the Peshmerga forces.
