Saleh Rashid, known as Faqi Saleh, was born in 1950 in the village of Razla, which belongs to the Nalpariz district in the Penjwen district. He was a villager and worked in agriculture. He completed the primary stage in the village, and went to the Penjwen district to complete his studies and religious sciences.
He joined the Peshmerga ranks in 1966 in the Sheikh Mohammed Basaki Company of the Ninth Martyr Dilshad Regiment within the Khabat Forces of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, where Fatah Agha was the regiment commander.
He was given the position of platoon commander and took on the role of his company clerk in 1967.
On May 24, 1969, Iraqi regime forces launched an attack on Peshmerga positions and trenches around the Khurmal district. Faqi Saleh was martyred in his defensive trench facing the army near the village of Awai Rustam after being shot by regime soldiers.
