Reza Qadir Abdulkarim, known as Hama Reza Hawrami, was born in the village of Balkha, which belongs to the district of Bayara in the Hawraman region, in 1932. He completed his primary and intermediate education in the village of Balkha and his secondary education in Bayara. He participated in the medical course and became a doctor in September Revolution.
In 1966, he joined the ranks of the Peshmerga Sixth Regiment of the Kurdistan Democratic Party forces. Having a secondary school certificate, he was sent directly to Haji Omran and the Kalala area to participate in a medical training course for the revolution. He completed the course after one year and six months and was then sent as a doctor to the Khabat forces.
In 1969, he and a number of his comrades were ambushed by the army of the former Iraqi regime in the Balambo Mountain in the city of Halabja. Clashes occurred between the two sides, as a result of which Reza Qadir (Hama Reza Hawrami) was seriously wounded and fell into the hands of the Iraqi soldiers. He was dragged on the ground near the village of Golan in the Halabja Governorate and was martyred after being shot with a hail of bullets.
Reza’s father, known as Qala Maynjan, was martyred in 1963. Two of his sisters (Suad and Tuba) were martyred in the chemical bombing of Halabja in 1988. In 1969, he was ambushed by the army of the former Iraqi regime, where he was arrested after being wounded and was martyred by gunfire from soldiers near Halabja.
