This book is an essential resource for anyone interested in the history of the Kurdish national movement in Iraqi Kurdistan. It is the 8th in a series of books that document the events surrounding the September Revolution of 1961-1975. The book is divided into five parts, each of which covers a significant period in the history of the revolution.
The first part of the book deals with the Kurdish national movement in Iraqi Kurdistan between 1958-1964. It covers the political situation in Kurdistan from July 14, 1958, to November 18, 1963, and political developments in Kurdistan as a result of the coup that took place on November 18. This section of the book provides an in-depth look at the events that led up to the September Revolution and the early stages of the revolution itself.
The second part of the book is about the formation of the Revolutionary Leadership Council in Iraqi Kurdistan. This section includes four topics: the first meeting of the council and the most significant events of this meeting, the reaction of the Kurdish parties to the formation of the council, the position of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and professional and mass organizations on the formation of the council, statements and early publications of the Revolutionary Leadership Council. This section of the book provides insight into the challenges the council faced in its early days and how it overcame them.
The third part of the book deals with the developments of the political situation in Kurdistan between 1965-1970. It includes three topics: the Revolutionary Leadership Council in Kurdistan and the deterioration of the situation as a result of the resumption of war in April 1965, Kurdistan Revolutionary Leadership Council and Political Developments in Kurdistan After the July 17, 1968 coup, and the Kurdistan Revolutionary Leadership Council's end. This section of the book explores the challenges the council faced as the revolution progressed and the impact of the political situation in Kurdistan on the council's activities.
The fourth part of the book deals with the activities of the Revolutionary Leadership Council and local movements in the organization of departments and financial affairs, health, education, land issues and the conditions of farmers, the promotion of justice, and the Peshmerga, social field. This section of the book provides a detailed overview of the council's internal operations and how it worked to improve the lives of the Kurdish people.
The fifth and final part of the book deals with the external activities of the Revolutionary Leadership Council to support the Kurdish revolution in Kurdistan. It contains four articles on the council's external efforts until the outbreak of war in Kurdistan in 1965. These articles cover Ismet Sharif Wanli's trip to the United States and its consequences, the council's foreign activities until 1966, the Kurdistan Revolutionary Leadership Council and its foreign activities until 1970, and the council's efforts to gain international recognition for the Kurdish revolution.
