The seventh congress of the Kurdistan Students Union was held on March 30, 1972, in a free atmosphere in Sulaimani, thanks to the March 11 agreement between the revolutionary leadership and the Iraqi central government.

Following the announcement of the March 11, 1970, agreement, the sixth congress of the Kurdistan Students Union was held in a free and open atmosphere on July 15, 1970. The congress took place in the village of Nawprdan, located in Erbil province.
