Epic Battle of Mount Safin April 1974
In June 1974, the Iraqi government attacked Mount Safin, although the Peshmerga were defending it. However, the continuous attacks of the government, the army's weapons and the fatigue of the Peshmerga forces made it impossible for them to continue their resistance in the mountains. Therefore, the Peshmerga commanders of that front decided to withdraw to Koneflusa behind Mount Hawre, where they established a line of defense until the downfall of the revolution in the spring of 1975.
