As a necessity of self-organization, changes in the management and structure of the organization In 2010, the Secretariat of the Kurdistan Students Union decided to hold a new congress. As is the tradition of the congress, the congress preparatory committee was formed and members voted in all the organization's organizations for the congress.

The congress began on February 24-25, 2010, in Erbil, under the supervision and presence of President Massoud Barzani and in the presence of 292 delegates. In this congress, several changes were made in the election of the secretary and organizations of the organization, including the secretary was elected directly from the congress and the statute system of the organizations was made in line with the statute of the party ie wherever there are party branches and areas, branches and areas of the Students Union should be opened.

The delegates elected the secretary, secretariat and executive committee as follows:

7- Sagvan Marree Sulaiman - Member of the Secretariat Bureau

8- Diyar Omar Sheikh Mohammed - Member of the Secretariat Bureau.
