Sabah Mohammed Arif, also known as Sabah Sheikh Mohammed Mir Sur, was born in 1967 in the village of Mir Suri, located in the Khurmal district. He led a simple life as a villager and farmer, receiving education up until primary school. After the September Revolution, he was displaced to Iran and eventually settled in Marivan.
In 1980, he joined the Peshmerga forces under the command of his brother Ghazi Sheikh Mahmoud Mir Suri, serving in the battalion of Martyr Abubakr Bani within the headquarters of the Suren force of the Darbandikhan area committee, affiliated with the fourth branch of the Kurdistan Democratic Party. He actively participated in the battle of Kaneskan and engaged in rebellious activities in the Sharazoor plain. On November 8, 1981, he, along with his comrades Ghazi Sheikh Mohammed and Jamal Bani, tragically fall victim to an ambush orchestrated by a PUK force in the village of Qayeri Marf, located in the Sharazoor plain.
