Jawahar Muhammad Ali

Jawahar Muhammad Ali, a Peshmerga and Barzani's friend in the Soviet Union, was born in Tel Village in 1920, participated in the September Revolution, and later in 1988 at the Qushtapa community.


Biography 

Born in 1920 in the village of Tel in Barzan sub district in Mergasor district in Erbil province, he married Tamara Abbas in the Soviet Union. They had got a daughter named Zaynab who was born in 1957. From June 12, 1963 to December 20, 1963, Tamara Abbas with two children in Erbil was arrested by the Iraqi government on charges that her husband is the companion of Mustafa Barzani and is a Peshmerga was taken to prison and later he lived in Saydawa neighborhood and was under surveillance and returned to the Soviet Union in 1965, and in 1988 he passed away Qushtapa community of Erbil.


Memoir of Struggle

On May 23, 1947, he accompanied General Mustafa Barzani to the Soviet Union and participated in the stream of Qtor battle and the Battle of the Mako Bridge، and after a lot of hardships and hard work, he crossed the Aras River to Soviet Union on June 18, 1947, which is located in the border between Iran and the Soviet Union.

After arriving in the Soviet Union, on June 19, 1947, with all his comrades in the city of Nakhchawan of the republic of Azerbeijan, for forty days, they were put in a desserted area surrounded by barbwires, and guarded by soldiers, and regarding food, clothing, and mobility they were treated as prisoners of war. Later, on the decision of the Soviet government, they were distributed over the areas of Aghdam, Lachin, Ayolakh and Kalbajar in The republic of Azerbaijan. On 10 May 1947 they were transferred to a military base on the Khazar Sea in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, and were given military uniforms on 23rd of the same month and were trained for eight hours a day under the supervision of Azerbaijani officers. At the same time, for four hours a day, they were taught Kurdish language lessons by some of their literate comrades.

After Jafaar Bakrov's ill treatment of his comrades, Barzani decides to move his military camp from the republic of Azerbaijan, on August 29, 1948, to the Chirchik camp near the "Tashkent" capital of the republic of Uzbekistan, where they will continue their military training.

In March 1949 he and his comrades were distributed by train to the rural villages of the Soviet Union and worked in the Kolkhoz (land that the people took from the government and then paid back the share of the government).

After a lot of effort and many letters from General Barzani to Stalin, a letter finally arrives in Stalin's hands in which Barzani talks about the problems of his comrades and immediately decides to form a committee to investigate the situation of Barzani's comrades, and finally the decision of the committee is that they should all be held in the city of Vrivsky, so in November 1951 he goes to the Soviet city of Vrivsky.

Following the Revolution of July 14, 1958 in Iraq and the return of General Mustafa Barzani, on February 25, 1959, he and his comrades were subjected to general amnesty in accordance with articles 3 and 7 and section (a) of Article Ten and working with article 11 in accordance with the amended law No. 19 of 1959.

In 1958, the republic of Iraq was founded under the presidency of Abd al-Karim Qasim, and on April 16, 1959, the aforementioned returned to Kurdistan with his fellow comrades via Groza ship through the port of Basra in southern Iraq. In 1963 he participated in the September Revolution.

Badro Lashkri

Born in 1930 in the village of “Bestre”, Badro Lashkri Hussein was a Peshmerga and a comrade of Barzani for the Soviet Union. He participated in the second Barzani revolution; moreover, he was a part of the revolutions of “Aylul” and “Gullan”. Also, he was a Peshmerga for the Republic of Kurdistan in Mahabad. He excelled at being a Peshmerga, and he is the bearer of the Barzani medal.

Piro Chicho Aziz

Born in 1922 in the village of “Guyze”, Piro Chicho Aziz was a Peshmerga and a friend of the Barzani for the Soviet Union. He was injured twice. In 2006, Piro passed away.
