Jamal Ali Rashid, also known as Jamal Mullah Ali, born on April 10, 1950, in the village of Walasmti in the Said Sadiq district, worked as a farmer and received education up until primary school. Following the downfall of the September Revolution, he was displaced to Iran and settled in Marivan. In 1964, he became a member of the Suren Organization within the Darbandikhan Regional Committee of the Fourth Branch of the Kurdistan Democratic Party. On April 1, 1976, he joined the Peshmerga as part of the Suren force under the command of Mullah Omar Bani Banok.
Jamal actively participated in various battles, including Shirmar in 1979, Rishen in 1980, Besalmen in 1980, and Qaladze in 1981. He also engaged in paramilitary activities in the Sharazoor plain, notably orchestrating the burning of the Said Sadiq police station using RPGs in 1979. During his time as a Peshmerga, Jamal Ali Rashid suffered two significant injuries. In 1979, he sustained severe wounds in a confrontation with soldiers from the Ba'ath regime during the battle of Shirmar. Later that year, he was hit by fragments from a long-range ball, causing serious facial injuries in another fight with the Ba'ath regime.
In 1981, during the Battle of Qaladze against the Ba'athist army, Jamal was shot in the left hand, marking his second injury as a Peshmerga. He was subsequently promoted to detachment commander in late 1976 and later became the commander of the fifth battalion of the Suren force in early 1981. In June 1981, he assumed the role of commander of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) Suren force.
On August 20, 1981, Jamal Mullah Ali and a group of fellow fighters relocated from the Siamewa headquarters on Suren hill to the Sharazoor plain. Their purpose was to engage in carry out various paramilitary activities in the area. However, their plans took a turn on August 23, 1981, when they fell into an ambush set by a PUK force in the village of Nawgardani within the Sharazoor plain. During the confrontation, Jamal Jamali Mullah Ali and his comrades, namely Jabar Mohammed Sharif, Ahmad Banishary, Jabari Haji Sharif, and Salih Khale, were recognized.
