Haider Muhammad-Amin

Teacher Haider Muhammad-Amin joined the ranks of the Party in 1946, in 1953 he was elected as a member of the administrative board of the Kurdistan Students Union first congress, after a short period he was appointed as a secretary of the Kurdistan Student Union. In 1960 he was elected as a standby member of the Central Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (5th Congress).

Biography 

Teacher Haider Muhammad-Amin was born in Erbil in 1927, in 1946 he sat for his final test of the final stage of high school in the prison, in 1953 he received a bachelor's degree in college of education of Baghdad from the English department, in 1953 he was not given the right to be employed because of his Kurdish struggle and to earn a living he worked for a private company. In 1957, he was appointed as a teacher at The High School of Hillah, in 1958, after the demise of the Kingdom of Iraq regime, he was transferred to Erbil’s directorate of education, he worked as a teacher. In 1958 he was English Language Teacher of Erbil’s Primary School House of Teachers

On The 16th of January 1960, he passed away in Erbil due to heart failure in Erbil, and on The 22nd of December 1960, Khabat newspaper an organ of the Kurdistan Democratic Party published the news of his death, the Secretary of the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Erbil branch of the Kurdistan Teachers Syndicate sent their condolences to his family. He knew Kurdish, Arabic and English.


Memoir of Struggle 

In 1942, he participated in the demonstration in front of Erbil governorate gate for the purpose of releasing lawyer Avni Yusuf Ahmed (1908-1988) and Dr. Jafaar Muhammad Karim (1910-2000) known as Dr. Jafaar Fayli and Hassan Taha Abdul-Aziz (1915-1999) known as Hassan Katani, who were arrested for their Kurdish Patriotic struggle, They were imprisoned by the governor of Erbil, he joined the Party ranks in 1946, he was imprisoned in 1948 and passed the examination of the final stage in the prison. In 1948 he was accepted at the English department of the college of education of Baghdad. In 1948 he was the representative of the General Iraqi Students Union (Sheran Congress).

In 1948 he was a member of the General Students Union of Iraq (Sheran Congress), in 1949 he was imprisoned for the political activity, in 1953 he was the founding member of the Kurdistan Students Union, in 1953 he was a member of the preparatory committee of the first congress of the Kurdistan Students Union, in 1953 in the Kurdistan Student Union’s first congress he was elected as a member of administrating board and after a short period of time he was appointed as the secretary of the Kurdistan Students Union. In 1953 he was a founding and leadership member of the Kurdistan Youth Democratic Union. In 1959 he was appointed as the head of the Erbil Distric Committee of the second branch committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party.

In 1959, he was a member of the preparatory board for the fourth Congress of the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iraq, in 1959 he was the representative of the fourth congress of the Kurdistan Democratic Party-Iraq in Baghdad, on the 10th of December 1959 as the representative of the Kurdistan Democratic Party-Iraq he gave a speech in the headquarters of the Khabat newspaper in Erbil on the occasion of Chief Brigadier   Abd al-Karim Qasim’s (1914-1963) recovery and discharge from hospital who survived from an assassination attempt by the Arabic Socialist  Baath party. On august 15-17, 1960, he was the representative of Erbil governorate in the second congress of the Kurdish Teachers Union (Shaqlawa’s Second Congress). In 1960 he was elected a member of the Central Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (Fifth Congress) by the representatives of the Congress, in 1960 he was the secretary of the Erbil branch of the Kurdistan Teachers Union.
