Aziz Tawfiq Abdulqadir, a martyr was born in 1946 in Barweni village of Bamo district of Halabja province. He was a rural farmer and finished primary school. He was married to Atiya Fatah and had six sons named Arkan, Arsalan, Saman, Sarkawt, Sarwat, and Sartip.
In 1962, he become a Peshmarga at the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) Khabat battalion which was commanded by Qadir Hama Salih Tagozi. He participated in several battles including Sartiz, Bamo, Zmnako, Ghala, Haji Omeran, Garmian, Handren, Darbandikhan, and Halabja.
In 1968, he received the rank of sergeant in the fourth branch of the sixth battalion of the Khabat forces. In 1972, he became the head of the military department of the sixth battalion of the Khabat forces. After the collapse of the September Revolution, he refused to lay down his weapon and continued his Peshmerga struggle alongside his comrades in the Tagozi branch. In 1978, he was appointed as the commander of the Tagozi Battalion. In 1982, he became the commander of the battalion of the Sirwan force of the KDP.
On 10 September 1982, Aziz Tawfiq Abdulqadir and a detachment of his comrades while returning from a partisan operation were surrounded by a large number of mercenaries (pro-Ba’ath regime Kurds) in Halabja, in the village of Gurgachia, Tagozi region, Halabja province. After several hours of clashes, the soldiers arrested Aziz Tawfiq Abdulqadir and his nephew Khalid Azam Tawfiq. He was shot dead by the Iraqi General Intelligence on the night of 10 September 1982 at the Gurgachia gate.
