The Sharazur Battle was another one of the Peshmerga battles jointly with the forces of the (JAWAD) Front, recorded between Said Sadiq, Halabja, Zarayan, and Darbandikhan, which lasted for three days. The JAWAD Front was established on November 28, 1980, between Kurdish parties such as the Kurdistan Democratic Party, the Socialist Party of Kurdistan, the Iraqi Communist Party, the Kurdistan Democratic People's Party, and the Kurdistan Socialist Party (PASOK). Its name was an abbreviation of the National Democratic Front (Al-Jabha al-Wataniyya al-Dimuqratiyya). The goal of establishing this front was the unification of the Kurdish parties to confront the Ba'ath regime under the shadow of one front.

The beginning of the emergence of the Sharazur Battle goes back to the Peshmerga force that went from the village of Shiremar to the villages of Gelak, Girdi Qazi, and Tapazairine for patrols and to strike the Ba'ath military agencies and institutions. One day they stayed in the villages of Tapasarqula, Kasheyari, Qajir, Girdi Sharif, and Dolash in the Sharazur region. On that same day, a large force of the army and Jash, supported by tanks, artillery, and aircraft, attacked the Peshmerga force in the villages of Tapasarqula, Kasheyari, and Zalm Stream. The Peshmerga force, under the command of Muhammad Haji Mahmud and Nadir Hawrami and Azad Qaradaghi , who were the leaders of the JAWAD Front in the area, started at 10:00 AM and lasted until 4:00 PM. In that battle, dozens of soldiers and gunmen of the Ba'ath government were killed, and there were four martyrs from the Peshmerga force named Muhammad Quta, Barzan Salih, Muhammad Sarawi, and Sirwan Sa'adun Kirkuki, along with a citizen named Gharib, a resident of the village of Tapasarqula. After the end of the battle, the government force returned to the Said Sadiq military base.
