Martyr Omar Karim Fattah was born in 1947 in Hasan Awa village in Halabja Governorate. He was a villager who worked in agriculture and completed primary school.
He joined the Peshmerga ranks in 1963 in the Faraj Haji Mahmoud Company, belonging to the Khabat Battalion of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, through Abdullah Baghdadi's main cell, belonging to the Norwali Organization.
In 1963, Omar Karim Fattah returned with martyr Hama Golpi and several of his Peshmerga comrades to Hasan Awa village to rest and secure their supplies. They were soon discovered, and a large force of the Iraqi regime surrounded the village. After clashes between the two sides, Hama Golpi and some of his comrades managed to escape, but Omar Karim Fattah and three of his comrades, Karim Fattah Qadir, Haji Karim, and Salih Muhammad Ali, were arrested. The Iraqi regime's soldiers shot them at the village entrance, and they were martyred immediately.
