Martyr Ismail Khidr Hawiz was born in 1942 in Warti village, belonging to the district of Rwanduz in Erbil Governorate. He was uneducated and married.
In 1980, in the Rwanduz district committee area, he joined the clandestine organizations of the Kurdistan Democratic Party. In 1994, he became a Peshmerga in the Mustafa Warti Brigade of the Soran Army. On July 7, 1997, during the war to defend the rule of law, he was martyred in Warti village by PKK militants.
