Ismail Hachak Chemi served at President Masoud Barzani's office after returning from exile in 1995. In 2005, after the establishment of the Presidency of the Kurdistan Region, he managed the President's special affairs. On November 6, 2022, at the fourteenth Congress of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in the city of Duhok, he was elected by the Congress members as a member of the Central Committee. After the Congress, he assumed responsibility for the Barzani Headquarters (President Barzani) in Pirmam.
