Barzan Khurshid Yahya was born in 1980 in the village of Badlian, affiliated with the Diana town, Erbil Governorate. He was literate and had not yet married. In 1997, he joined the Kurdistan Democratic Party and became a Peshmerga in the 63rd Force of the Sidakan Army. He participated in most of the battles to defend the rule of law. On October 24, 1997, he was martyred by PKK militants in the battle to defend the rule of law on Goshina Mountain in the Sidakan area.
