Atam Mikael Ababakr Stoni was born in 1975 in Stoni village of Shirwan Mazen district, Mergasor district, Erbil Governorate. In 1977 he was relocated to Mergasor district. In 1988 he became a refugee in Iran and lived in Zewa camp. In 1992 he returned to Southern Kurdistan and settled in Sardaw village of Mergasor district.

In 1992 he joined the Peshmerga forces of the Kurdistan Democratic Party and became a Peshmerga in the Barzan Army. In 1997 he was martyred in Navkorka of the Upper Mzuri area by armed members of pkk, and was buried in Sardaw village cemetery.
