Biography

Aras Hasso Mirkhani was born in the city of Sulaymaniyah in the Year 1968. He obtained a Bachelor's degree in 1993, a Master's degree in 1996, and a Doctorate in Pharmacy from the University of Isfahan in Iran in 1998. He also obtained a Master's degree in Management from the Lebanese-French University in Erbil in 2009. He became the Director General of Culture and Media at the Ministry of Peshmerga in the fourth cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government in 2001, and also held the position of Director General of Audit and Finance in the Kurdistan Regional Government. He is fluent in the languages (Kurdish, Persian, Turkish, and English).

Aras Hasso Mirkhani took refuge with his family in Iran after the setback of the Aylul Revolution in the Year (1975). He became associated with the organizations of the Kurdistan Students Union in (1982), and in (1988) he joined the ranks of the Kurdistan Peshmerga Forces and participated in the epic of Khwakurk.

He assumed command of the Martyr Ali Hasso battalion in (1995) and was wounded in the battle of defense of Qasre in Erbil Governorate. He was also wounded for the second time in the battle of defense of the Kurdistan Region in the Amidi area of Dohuk Governorate. He participated in the battle against the terrorist ISIS forces on the Gwer-Makhmur front in Erbil Governorate in the Year (2014).

During his struggle in the ranks of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, he undertook many tasks and responsibilities, including: responsible for the local committee of the university affiliated with the Political Bureau among refugee students at the university and Iranian institutes in 1990, Deputy Head of the Peshmerga Organizations Office (1998-2000), member of the office in the office of President Barzani (2000-2010), Head of the Sixteenth Branch – Erbil outskirts (2011-2017), Head of the Investment Institution of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (2020), etc.

He was a delegate to the Eleventh (1993) and Twelfth (1999) Congresses, and was elected as a Member of the Central Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party at the Thirteenth Congress in the Year (2010). He was elected as a Member of the Central Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party at the Fourteenth Congress of the party in the Year (2022).
