Soran Ismail Hamawais Rasul

Martyr Soran Ismail who was also known as Mamoste Soran was a cadre and Peshmerga of the Gullan Revolution and the Kurdish People's Uprising; he was wounded once during his Peshmerga career, and in the Kurdistan Democratic Party, he received the ranks of member and executive of the regional committee. However, in 1991, in an attack on the Ba'ath regime's military base in Sartaki Bamo, he was martyred.


Soran Ismail Hamawais Rasul who was also known as teacher Soran was born in 1957 in Tawela village of Biaray district of Hawraman region. And he acquired his primary, secondary and high school education in Tawela. And In 1981, he received his degree in agricultural engineering from the Mosul University. He was proficient in both Persian and Arabic.

 

Martyr Soran joined the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and Kurdistan Students Union (KSU) during his secondary school education in Tawela. Additionally, after moving to Mosul, he established two organizing branches in Mosul University. At the same time, he was a cadre of the secret branches in Sulaimani and his two sisters named Narmin and Kazhal helped him to deliver his letters and messages to the secret branches there.

 

After Martyr Soran graduated from university in 1982, he became a Peshmerga in the Tawela organization of the Halabja Regional Committee of the Fourth Branch of the Kurdistan Democratic Party. At that time, Martyr Kamil was in charge of the organization. To add more, due to his open mind and high level of organization, Nader Hawrami the head of the fourth branch, soon moved him closer to the branch headquarters close to himself.

 

In 1983, he became a member of the Halabja Regional Committee of the Fourth Branch of the Kurdistan Democratic Party. And in 1985, he was transferred to the headquarters of the fourth branch of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (PDK) with Diyari Hussein and Hama Taqi, and he became head of the branch. Moreover, Martyr Soran became a companion of Nader Hawrami in the second branch until 1987.

 

In 1987, he participated in the Ahmad Awa Dastan, and he a piece of bullet from an RPG had injured his head. 

 

In 1988, he became the administrator of the Darbandikhan district committee of the fourth branch of the Kurdistan Democratic Party. And later on, he became the head of Qasima Rash border.

 

In 1991, during the attack to capture the base of the Ba'athist soldiers in Sartaki Bamo, a mine near the base had exploded and Martyr Soran and a comrade named Sayed Nasraddin Hamid were martyred; meanwhile, their comrade Abbas was severely injured.

Jalal Mohammed Ahmad

Martyr Jalal Mohammed Ahmad served as a Peshmerga during the May Revolution. Throughout his Peshmerga career, he encountered two occurrences of injury. In 1982, he was apprehended by the Sulaimani security forces and subsequently executed. Jalal Mohammed Ahmad was born in 1962 in the village of Dula Suri, located in the Nalparez district of Penjwen district. He grew up as a villager and received education up until primary school.
