Saheb Habib Hama Rashid, a Peshmerga fighter associated in the May Revolution, tragically lost his father and brother to martyrdom. Throughout his Peshmerga career, he displayed immense courage and dedication, sustaining critical injuries on one occasion. In recognition of his exceptional leadership skills, he was bestowed with the esteemed rank of battalion commander. Regrettably, Saheb met his untimely demise in 1988 during a confrontation with the Ba'ath regime in the Khurmal district.
Saheb Habib Hama Rashid Wahab, born in 1972 in the Biara district of Halabja province, was a resident of Biara and an ambitious secondary school student. In 1986, he embarked on a remarkable journey as a Peshmerga, joining the esteemed Fairoz Biaray Battalion of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) in Hawraman.
In 1987, he fall victim to an ambush orchestrated by the Ba'ath regime in the Hawraman region, sustaining severe injuries. Despite being wounded, he bravely managed to evade the ambush. Following medical treatment for his injuries, he was subsequently elevated to the esteemed position of battalion commander.
In 1988, subsequent to an altercation with the soldiers of the Ba'ath regime in the Khurmal district, the group relocated only to be unexpectedly attacked by the Ba'ath soldiers. Tragically, Saheb Habib Hama Rashid Wahab lost his life in the incident. The soldiers transported his body to Sulaimani where it was laid to rest in the cemetery of Saywan Hill in Sulaimani.
