The role of women in the liberation movement of South Kurdistan 1958-1991

This book is an academic study on the role of women in political activities between the years 1958-1991, consisting of a preface, an introduction, three chapters, an appendix, documents, and photographs.

The first chapter of this book discusses the role of women within Kurdish and Iraqi political parties and movements between the years 1958-1991 and covers two topics regarding the role of women within Kurdish and Iraqi political parties between the years 1958-1975, such as the Iraqi Communist Party and the Kurdistan Democratic Party, the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, the Kurdistan Socialist Democratic Party, the Kurdish Socialist Party (PASOK), the Islamic Movement in South Kurdistan, and the Kurdistan Toilers Party.

The second chapter is about the role of women in professional and mass movements and organizations and consists of two topics, discussing professional and mass movements and organizations between the years (1958-1975) such as the Kurdistan Women's Union, the Iraqi Women's Rights Defense Association, and the Peace Movement in Iraq, as well as women's associations and organizations in South Kurdistan between the years 1975-1991 such as the Kurdistan Women's Union, the Kurdistan Women's Association, the Leyla Qasim Organization, the Kurdistan Women's Union, and the Kurdistan Women's Vanguard Organization.

The third chapter discusses the role of women in armed conflict and international activities and includes three topics, covering the role of women in the armed struggle between the years 1961-1991, the role and participation of women in international activities, and the attitude of the Iraqi government towards the struggle of women in South Kurdistan between the years 1958-1951.
