It is clear that the Kurdish revolution has gone through special conditions according to the stages and circumstances of the time, at a time when the will of the revolution needed front-line warfare, cities and districts were liberated and Peshmerga forces remained there and prepared themselves to confront them, but after the start of the Gulan Revolution, the situation required that the Peshmerga forces often had to fight against the military and security agencies of the Ba'ath regime in a partisan manner, thus conveying the message of the revolution and its importance to government officials. Here it is important not to overlook the role of urban organizations that were the driving force and active guides for the revolution. For the organizational cadres and Peshmerga forces to be able to carry out their revolutionary duty and even carry out their Peshmerga work, of course, carrying out many activities inside the cities and in the depths of the government's authority was not without this stance of the secret organization of the revolutionary cities. ([1])
Kurdistan Peshmerga Forces, under the supervision of Lieutenant Babekir and Hoshyar Zebari, carried out a Peshmerga operation in the center of Akre city, after the joint Peshmerga force between the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Iraqi Communist Party in 1983 planned to attack the centers and bases of the Ba'ath Party inside Akre. According to the plan and roadmap of the attack, positions were divided among them and at the designated time and place they attacked the Ba'ath bases and institutions in the city and were able to cause great damage to the Ba'ath institutions in a short time.
In this epic, each of the Peshmerga Abdullah Qado, Suleiman Herni, Bilal Surchi, Abdulaziz Amedi, Sadiq Gizi, Ahmed Shahin, Reza, Shimal Zebari and Sheikh Ahmed Surchi participated and played an effective role in the battle.
As a result of the battle, great damage was done to the Ba'ath regime's institutions and there was a great echo in the region. On the side of the revolutionary forces, a Peshmerga named Sheikh Ahmed Surchi was martyred and 2 other Peshmerga named Casim Zebari and Ahmed Beharki were wounded. ([2])
