In 1965, by the decision of the revolution's leadership, Qasim Abu Shuwarib was transferred to the Qaradagh Force and received the rank of Head of Branch of the force's headquarters. He also actively participated in the battles within his force's border area, the most prominent of which were the Battle of Kifri, the Battle of Qaradagh, and the Battle of Bamo.

After confronting and getting very close to the trenches of the military of Iraq at the time, a planted mine under the trench exploded on Qasim Abu Shuwarib, and he was severely wounded, losing both legs and other parts of his body. His Comrades transported him to the village of Dari Kali, affiliated with the Bazian sub-district, for treatment, but 20 hours after being wounded, he was martyred due to the severity of his injury, and he was later buried in the cemetery of the village of Dari Kali.
