In 1950, he became a soldier in the Iraqi Army and worked in weapons manufacturing engineering. In 1961, he joined the Peshmerga Forces of the Aylul Revolution and became a Peshmerga with Abdullah Agha Pishdari. A small weapons workshop in Rusta village made Peshmerga weapons. In 1962, after an Iraqi Army attack aided by Karim Khan Biradost, he was martyred by Karim Khan's jash forces. Besides martyring Hosta Xidir, they looted a village goat flock and the cattle of Rusta village and seized the village.
