Ewla Resh Rustayi, in the year 1969, at a young age, joined the Peshmerga forces in the September Revolution and became a Peshmerga in the Balek force. In the year 1976, at the beginning of the Gulan Revolution, he joined the Peshmerga forces and was tasked as a District Administrator and Military Official in the Balek District Committee as a partisan squad in the Balekayati area. He participated in several partisan battles. The Kospî Spî battle on the road to Soran and Haji Omeran, the Gorê Nêtwê battle in the Similan sub-district, which is part of the Choman district of the Erbil province. In the year 1994, in the battle to defend the rule of law in the village of Cuyzani in the Gelale sub-district of the Choman district, he was severely wounded alongside PKK militants, until on the night of June 9, 1999, during the defense of the entity and status of the Kurdistan Region, he was martyred by the hands of PKK militants.
