Martyr Ahmed Mahmoud in the year 1967 joined the Peshmerga Forces of Aylul Revolution and in Branch 3, Battalion 3 of Surdash of the Rizgari Force of the Kurdistan Democratic Party he became a Peshmerga.
On August 14, 1974, Ahmed Mahmoud and a group of comrades in the village of Allayi between Chamchamal and Kirkuk fell into a military ambush of the then Iraqi regime and Ahmed Mahmoud and four comrades were martyred.
