Haji Ramazan Muhammad

Haji Ramazan Muhammad Ali, known as (Haji Khanjar), was born in 1952 in Duhok Governorate. His grandfather, Muhammad Ali, was martyred alongside the Martyr Sheikh Abdulsalam. In 1965, at a young age, he joined the Peshmerga Forces of the Aylul Revolution. In 1975, after the collapse, he became a refugee in the country of Turkey. In 1976, he joined the provisional leadership of the Kurdistan Democratic Party. He is a recipient of the Barzani Medal.

Hamid Haidar Argushi

Hamid Haidar Ahmed, known as (Hamid Argushi), was born in the village of Argushi in the Sherwan Mazn sub-district. In 1959, he joined the ranks of the Kurdistan Democratic Party. In 1961, he joined the Peshmerga Forces of the Aylul Revolution and became a Peshmerga. In 1979, he joined the Peshmerga Forces of the Gulan Revolution. On the 15 of December 2010, he was awarded the Barzani Medal.

The Battle of Chamkuchele of Qadir Karam 1968

This battle took place in the autumn of 1968 in the Qadir Karam area between the Peshmerga forces of Kurdistan and the armed men of the old Politburo faction who were affiliated with the government during that period, and two regiments of the government's commando army supported by tanks, artillery, armored vehicles, and warplanes. As a result, the government forces and the armed men were severely defeated, suffered heavy casualties and material losses, left the area, and retreated until they reached Kirkuk.

Khizava Battle 1981

On the date of 25 May 1981, the Khizava battle took place between the Peshmerga Forces and the Iraqi regime army. When a Peshmerga force affiliated with the Zakho district committee was on a patrol (movement) in the villages of the Batifa area in the Badinan region to carry out Peshmerga duties, they encountered a military force of the Ba'ath regime army in the village of Khizava. After a fierce battle, another force affiliated with the Batifa Brigade and the Iraqi Army's Dashi Chii moved toward the scene of the incident to support and assist the force that was in battle with the Peshmerga.

Hamo Sleman Rashid

Hamo Sleman Rashid (1917-1968), a Peshmerga and companion of Barzani to the Soviet Union, participated in the First Barzan Revolution (1931-1932) and the Second Barzan Revolution (1943-1945), was one of the Peshmerga of the army of the Republic of Kurdistan in Mahabad, and participated in the Aylul Revolution (1961-1975).

Iskandar Ali Raza Omar

Martyr Iskandar Ali was a Peshmerga of both the Aylul Revolution and the Gulan Revolution. He was wounded once during his Peshmerga life. In 1982 he was captured in an ambush by the Ba'ath regime's soldiers and in 1983 he was executed in the city of Baghdad.

Khalid Asaad Aziz Khusin

Khalid Asaad Aziz Khusin, a Peshmerga of the Aylul Revolution, held the ranks of squad leader and platoon leader, was a cadre of the Shaqlawa district committee, held the rank of district cadre in his political life, and carried out secret organizational work within the borders of the Shaqlawa district committee. In 1988 in the village of Aspindara, he and eight other cadres fell into an ambush by the Ba'ath regime's soldiers and were executed.

Batufa Battle 1962

A few months after the outbreak of the Aylul Revolution, the government of Abdul Karim Qasim launched a series of attacks and raids on the areas under the control of the revolution, with the guidance of hired gunmen (Jash), but the Peshmerga resisted them every time and defeated the attacks and raids. The Batufa battle, which took place on 21 May 1962, lasted for 45 days. In the end, the government retreated with a load of dead officers and soldiers without achieving any gains.

The Battle of Black Mountain in Duhok 1974

The Battle of Black Mountain took place at the beginning of November 1974 on Black Mountain west of the city of Duhok, because that area was under the authority of the revolution and the activities of the Peshmerga continued there, especially the shelling of military convoys. The Iraqi Army also carried out a widespread attack to silence the voice and presence of the revolution in that area, but it was not successful; rather, it suffered heavy human and material losses.

Bade Village Battle 1983

It is a partisan activity of the Peshmerga force against the forces of the Ba'ath regime. A Peshmerga force of the Duhok Regional Committee and the Hormuz Malik and Tahir Zeweyi organizations on the night of 11 to 12 of December 1983 attacked the Bade village outpost, took control of it in a short time, and set it on fire. They killed all the soldiers and took four of them prisoner, then they left the place.

Geli Qirki Battle (Sare Maghara) 1985

The Geli Qirki battle was a partisan activity of the Kurdistan Peshmerga forces within the borders of the Sheikhan branch committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, when they attacked the Geli Qirki guard post on 4 June 1985. After a fierce battle, due to the difficulty of the location and the martyrdom of the force commanders, the Peshmerga force abandoned the attack and left the location.
